About Me
I’m an associate professor of entrepreneurship at the University of South Alabama and Director of the Melton Center for Entrepreneurship & Innovation. I help leaders turn AI from a buzzword into a working system—diagnose the work, design the workflow, deploy with guardrails, and measure what matters: cycle time, quality, and margin.
- Scholar–practitioner: research meets real operators
- AI enablement: LLMs, prompts → playbooks → processes
- Simplex problem-solving: diverge → converge → decide
- Results over rhetoric; repeatable wins over heroics
Education
I have three degrees, all in entrepreneurship. The first two are from Ball State University, the PhD is from the University of Louisville, and my dissertation compared effectuation to causality to determine if one entrepreneurial path was preferable to the other.
Jobs to be Done (by me)
Most recently I am the founder of the Entrevangelism Company. It is our mission to help entrepreneurs be so successful that the government can’t spend all the tax revenue they create. My primary tools are:
- AI enablement platform and training
- The Simplex Problem Solving Process
- The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and programs
- Business/Business Plan research and writing
I am a director of the Melton Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation in the Mitchell College of Business at the University of South Alabama, where for the past ten years I have been designing and implementing entrepreneurship-based programs, classes, courses of study, and events for entrepreneurs as well as college and high school students.
Jobs Previously Done (also by me)
Before becoming an academic, I owned and/or operated over a dozen businesses, including a locksmithing business, residential and commercial painting companies, bookkeeping services, retail sales establishments, and other consulting businesses.
